  • AMP/OMEA Membership Well Represented at Public Power Rally

    Representatives from more than 23 American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) and Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA) member communities participated in the 2020 American Public Power Association (APPA) Legislative Rally Feb. 24-26. The annual Rally is an opportunity for municipal electric system representatives to share firsthand insights with federal lawmakers and staff.

  • AMP Selects Jolene Thompson as new President and CEO

    American Municipal Power, Inc.’s (AMP) Board of Trustees announced today that Jolene Thompson has been named as AMP’s new President and CEO. Thompson takes the reins from longtime President and CEO Marc Gerken, who has led the organization for nearly two decades and announced his retirement in April of 2019. She is the first woman to lead the multi-state nonprofit corporation, which owns and operates electric facilities that provide generation, transmission and distribution of electric power and energy to its members.
