American Municipal Power Names Joe Morris Chief Technology Officer

COLUMBUS, OHIO: AMP is pleased to announce that Joe Morris has been named Chief Technology Officer.
In his new role, Morris will oversee AMP’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure program, supervisory control and data acquisition system, and system reporting, as well as all of the organization’s innovation and transformation efforts. He will also assist in the development of short- and long-term technology strategies to serve AMP and its Members.
“Since first joining the organization as an intern, Joe has proven to be an exceptional asset for AMP and our Members,” said Branndon Kelley, Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation. “He is a hard worker, an innovative thinker and an exceptionally capable IT professional. Moving forward, I have no doubt that he will play a key role in leading AMP through the ever-shifting technological landscape of our industry.”
Morris joined AMP full time as Systems Analyst in 2016, having previously served as an IT Intern for nearly a year. Since then, he has served in a number of roles, most recently as Assistant Vice President of Innovation and Transformation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in network and communication management from DeVry University and a Master of Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He is also the 2021 recipient of the AMP Employee Innovator Award.
