American Municipal Power Names Rama Kuppa Assistant Vice President of Business Systems

COLUMBUS, OHIO: AMP is pleased to announce that Rama Kuppa has been named Assistant Vice President of Business Systems.
In his new role, Kuppa will work with senior leadership and support vendors to refine and execute AMP’s strategic roadmap. This includes evaluating current systems to identify opportunities to expand their use and functionality, ultimately delivering greater value to AMP staff and Members.
“Rama served as an IT consultant with AMP for many years and bringing him into the organization as a full-time employee quickly proved to be a great decision,” said Branndon Kelley, Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation. “He is industrious, innovative and an outside-of-the-box thinker. I am confident in his ability to assist AMP’s senior leadership in our efforts to refine and execute our strategic roadmap.”
Kuppa joined AMP full time as Director of Applications in 2019, having served as an AMP consultant for the previous nine years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in information systems from CQUniversity, as well as the IT Leaders Certificate from the Innovative Leadership Institute. He is a 2022 recipient of the AMP Employee Innovator Award.
“I have worked for AMP in one capacity or another for more than 15 years now, and in that time, I have seen the organization grow and adapt in countless ways,” Kuppa said. “Our industry is at an inflection point, and it is important that public power evolves alongside these monumental changes. I look forward to my new responsibilities and assisting the AMP leadership team in meeting those changes head on.”
