M. Beth Trombold

M. Beth Trombold serves as American Municipal Power Inc.’s (AMP) senior vice president of public affairs and talent management. She joined AMP in February 2023 as a member of AMP’s executive management team and provides oversight of AMP’s government relations, communications and human resources programs.

Trombold previously served as commissioner of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), where she was appointed in 2013, and reappointed to a second term in 2018. She served as vice chair from 2016 – February 2023.

As PUCO Commissioner, she served as a member of the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). Trombold served on NARUC’s Committee on Electricity as co-vice chair and the Washington Action Program.

Additionally, Trombold served as a board member and is the past president of the Organization of PJM States, Inc. (OPSI), an organization of 14 state commissions in the service area of PJM Interconnection. She served as chair of the Independent State Agencies Committee and as a member of the advisory committee of the Financial Research Institute of the University of Missouri.

Prior to her appointment as PUCO Commissioner, Trombold served as assistant director of the Ohio Department of Development, as well as in a variety of roles within the PUCO, including director of economic development and public affairs.

Trombold received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in public policy and management from The Ohio State University.
