Bart Taberner joined AMP in 2025 as Senior Director of Transmission Planning and was promoted to his current position in 2026. As Executive Vice President of AMPT, Taberner oversees and directs all functions of AMPT, including acquisition, development, planning, engineering, construction and operation functions. He has nearly four decades of experience in the industry and has spent most of his career with American Electric Power (AEP) and its subsidiaries, most recently as Manager of Transmission Planning. At AEP, he managed transmission planning for AEP in its Indiana and Michigan footprint, overseeing planning standards and criteria, process documentation and improvement, facility ratings, load flow modeling, and more. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from West Virginia University.
