Member Services
Member ServicesThe Smart Thermostat Program is a subscription-based service that uses a distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) that allows subscribing AMP Members to manage enrolled Wi-Fi connected thermostats during summer peak demand events. The program is aimed at helping Member communities combat increasing transmission and capacity charges by reducing their overall system peak demand.
The goal is to utilize AMP’s technical capabilities and services to help Member communities achieve economic development goals.
Plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) represent a potential load growth opportunity of approximately 3,500 kWh per year, per vehicle. If left unmanaged, EVs can add to a utility’s peak demand and/or stress its distribution and transmission infrastructure. Leading the conversation, or at least being at the table, will help ensure EV adoption benefits the utility and the community.
The Focus Forward Member extranet page is a repository of materials for AMP Members preparing for a Distributed Energy Future.
American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) has partnered with The Ferguson Group (TFG) to provide grant assistance and support to our membership.
AMP works closely with OMEA on monitoring legislative issues at the state and federal levels.
AMP actively collaborates with regulatory agencies at all levels to advocate for its Members, engaging in key proceedings, providing expert commentary and pursuing appellate actions when necessary.
AMP’s Mutual Aid Program is a network of municipal systems that stands ready to provide assistance to fellow municipal systems when local utility emergencies occur that are too widespread to be handled by one system alone.
AMP regularly monitors activities and provides updates to Members regarding NERC.
AMP offers a Public Power Certification Training Program at no cost to Member community officials.
The Technical Services page is a resource for information about AMP provided technical and safety services, training and events.
