Grey and Jakubczak Re-Elected to APPA Board of Directors

COLUMBUS, OH: Jason Grey, Director of Utilities for the City of Danville, and Paul Jakubczak, Director of Utilities for the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) and AMP Board of Trustees Member, have been re-elected to three-year terms on the American Public Power Association (APPA) Board of Directors. Grey will continue to represent Region 5 and Jakubczak will continue to represent Region 2.

APPA membership voted on Board assignments during the APPA National Conference, which took place June 6-11.

Grey has served with the City of Danville in various roles for more than 20 years. He holds an associate degree in applied science from Danville Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Averett University. In Grey’s time with the utility, he has supervised the operations of all divisions of the department, including customer service, electric, support services, telecommunication, water and gas distribution, and water/wastewater treatment.

Region 5 of the APPA membership footprint includes Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

Jakubczak has served with the CBPU since 2022 and has more than 26 years of experience in utility operations and municipal government work. Prior to joining the CBPU, Paul served as Director of Electric and Gas Systems for Fort Pierce Utilities Authority and as Director of Enterprise Services for the City of Gastonia. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Ashford University, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a Professional Engineer in the state of Florida. He currently serves as a member of the AMP Board of Trustees.

Region 2 of the APPA membership footprint includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

“Jason and Paul are strong advocates for public power and the communities they serve,” said Jolene Thompson, AMP President and CEO. “I have had the honor of working with both of these gentlemen in my time with AMP and I am confident that they will both continue to contribute greatly to the APPA Board of Directors.”

APPA is the service organization for the nation’s more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities that serve more than 49 million Americans.
