Smart Thermostat Program
The Smart Thermostat Program is a subscription-based service that uses a distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) that allows subscribing AMP Members to manage enrolled Wi-Fi connected thermostats during summer peak demand events. The program is aimed at helping Member communities combat increasing transmission and capacity charges by reducing their overall system peak demand.
Economic Development
The goal is to utilize AMP’s technical capabilities and services to help Member communities achieve economic development goals.
Electric Vehicles
Plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) represent a potential load growth opportunity of approximately 3,500 kWh per year, per vehicle. If left unmanaged, EVs can add to a utility’s peak demand and/or stress its distribution and transmission infrastructure. Leading the conversation, or at least being at the table, will help ensure EV adoption benefits the utility and the community.
Focus Forward
The Focus Forward Member extranet page is a repository of materials for AMP Members preparing for a Distributed Energy Future.

American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) has partnered with The Ferguson Group (TFG) to provide grant assistance and support to our membership.
