Energy Education

The Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA) partners with Ohio Energy Project (OEP) to provide energy education opportunities for schools within OMEA member communities. OEP is committed to supporting teachers and students with innovative science curriculum, materials and programs that spark curiosity about energy.

Energy education is provided by OEP to all OMEA member communities. Through online training videos, science teachers can access engaging hands-on lessons investigating circuits, electricity and energy efficiency. Lesson plans, student worksheets and activity materials are also provided.

OEP has also worked extensively to connect local utility departments with their school districts to help educate students. Through OMEA's partnership, OEP will work with member utilities to provide ideas for engagement with the local school communities regarding the benefits of public power, the science of energy, electric safety and energy efficiency.

I love how the lessons are engaging, aligned to the standards, AND you supply everything we need! Providing the materials is huge when our resource budgets are so limited!
