New Leadership for the AMP Board of Trustees

COLUMBUS: Steve Dupee, director of the Oberlin Municipal Light & Power System was elected Chair of the 20-member American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP) Board of Trustees during the 2014 AMP/OMEA Annual Conference in Columbus. During the Board’s annual reorganizational meeting other officers elected included Vice Chair: Jeff Brediger, Orrville director of utilities; Secretary: Pam Lucas, Montpelier village manager; Treasurer: Tracy Reimbold, Newton Falls finance director.

Dupee has served as a member of the AMP Board of Trustees since 2004, chairing key committees and serving as an officer. He succeeds longtime chair Jon Bisher, who will remain as a member of the Board representing Napoleon. The Board chair’s role is subject to a five-year term limit

Also during the annual conference, the following Ohio communities were re-elected to new three-year terms on the Board of Trustees: Cuyahoga Falls, Dover, Napoleon and Newton Falls.

AMP is governed by the Board of Trustees that consists of 20 AMP members, 19 elected by the members or subgroups of members and the AMP member Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC), on behalf of its nine member systems. Each such elected member then appoints a person to represent it on the Board. The President/CEO and General Counsel are employed by the Board of Trustees and are ex-officio members of the Board.
