COLUMBUS, OH: American Municipal Power Inc. (AMP) is pleased to announce that Branndon Kelley has added the responsibility of executive sponsor for innovation and transformation to his existing role as senior vice president of technology and chief information officer.

"Branndon’s business acumen, technical knowledge and proven track record of managing complex issues align well with the skills needed to lead our innovation and transformation efforts. In this role, he will work with me and other members of the executive team and lead cross-departmental teams as we seek out opportunities to strengthen the organization.”

Kelley joined AMP in 2009 and has more than 20 years of experience providing vision, leadership, governance and execution for technology programs, projects and departments. Some of his current responsibilities include information technology, operation technology (SCADA and plant systems), advanced metering infrastructure, smart city and enterprise cyber security.

“The disruption that is happening across all aspects of the electric utility industry, the change in customer expectations and the entrance of nontraditional competition makes it clear that AMP must take a proactive approach in innovating to ensure that we are responding appropriately,” Kelley said. “I am honored in the trust that the AMP Board of Trustees and Jolene have put in me in spearheading this response. In this role, I will lead a cross-functional team dedicated to serving our members by examining and executing ideas and initiatives of both external and internal innovation and transformation opportunities.”

Before joining AMP, Kelley held senior management and executive roles at Quick Solutions Inc. (now Fusion Alliance), HP, EDS, Saber Corporation and has spent more than nine years as an adjunct professor at local colleges.

Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from DeVry University and was inducted into their alumni hall of fame earning a Pinnacle Award. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Keller Graduate School of Management, where he was recognized as one of the top 40 graduates in school history with the 40 for 40th Award.
